Effective May 10, 2024 there will be a change in our fees for our walk-in, same day and lab work follow up appointments to $30 a visit. We would like to thank everyone for their continued support and understanding as we wait to hear about government funding.
As many know, we have been waiting for news of possible public funding for some time. In anticipation of this we are starting a waitlist for those who would like to have a Nurse Practitioner as a primary care provider in our clinic, if funding becomes available. If you would like to be added to the waitlist or you have questions about the process please feel free to call the clinic during our office hours 587-871-4500 and we can assist you!
INITIAL APPOINTMENT 1 HOUR (MEET AND GREET) | $120

*Please note that you do not have to be a patient of the clinic to book health screening examinations, contraception appointments, or same day appointments.
*It is very important that health screening exams do not replace your annual examination with your primary care provider! The annual exam with your Primary Care Provider is very important to review health goals and ensures continuity of care! Our goal is to make sure that everyone has access to health screening in a safe and inclusive environment which is why physical examinations for health screening are offered through our clinic.
*Our goal is to not replace your primary care provider, we recognize that it is often difficult to get same day services for "walk in" appointments and are happy to assist with access to care until you can get in to follow up with your primary care provider.
* You do not have to be a patient of the clinic to access this service.
* The price of this service includes disposable instruments utilized at the clinic
*Please note that this service is not an emergency service or for counseling, it is meant for assessment and pharmacological management for common mental health concerns including Depression, Anxiety & ADHD.
*This service is not to replace your regular visits with your primary care provider.
All unattended appointments will be charged a missed appointment fee for the full cost of the appointment missed. We ask that you give us as much notice as possible if you need to cancel your appointment. We will also make sure to give as much notice as possible if an appointment needs to be changed. Thank you!

We hope that it changes, but right now our services do require a fee for appointment. There is no business agreement in place in Alberta to reimburse Nurse Practitioners in Independent practice. If you want to write to your MLA to advocate for Nurse Practitioners to support your community you can click on the button below to find a template of a letter from the Nurse Practitioner Association of Alberta that can be filled in and sent to your MLA.
Your appointment may be covered through insurance, contact them to see if you are eligible for reimbursement.

Nurse Practitioners are advanced practice registered nurses that are trained to support patients in many different areas of care including primary care. They are able to diagnose primary health conditions, provide health screening, manage chronic health conditions, order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic testing, prescribe pharmacological therapy, and refer to other care providers. They are able to practice independently and be Primary Care Providers for patients. Many insurance companies provide coverage for Nurse services, check with your insurance provider to see if you may be able to be reimbursed for services.
Miriam graduated from her BScN in Nursing in 2010 and joined the nursing team at Daysland Health Centre. She soon began working on her masters degree for her Nurse Practitioner as she saw it as a way to really support the primary care needs in the community. In 2017 she completed her masters degree:nurse practitioner stream through Athabasca University. She has worked as a primary care NP in a variety of settings including primary care, pediatrics, and mental health and addictions. She has completed extra training in several areas that include: Foot care certification, CAN-Reach training for youth mental health, opioid use disorder treatment, and falls prevention for seniors. She has a passion for nursing and is excited to be providing care in her rural setting.
Gillian is a great positive energy on our team. She is big on patient centered care showing with her 20 plus years experience as a Dental Assistant. She has a passion for people and learning new things. In her time away from the office she loves spending time with her family, her nieces and nephews, teenagers and pets, sewing, and decorating cakes. She was born and raised in the Camrose area. Her experience with patient care is a great asset to our team!
